About this cartoon: The Army Corps of Engineers gave a green light to an oil pipeline in North Dakota that would run into tribal lands and threaten their water supply; the Corps of Engineers posed a much-lower threshold for approval than other channels. Protests from Native Americans and their supporters were strong, but North Dakota and local law enforcement, as well as oil company private security, struck back harshly and with force, essentially favoring a private business interest over the rights of American citizens.
